E.G. Lewis Group are delighted to accept an invitation to conduct mock interviews at Ysgol Cwm Brombil on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th December for years’ 9 and 10 pupils, in partnership with Careers Wales.
Careers Wales deliver a remit set by the Minister for Welsh Language and Lifelong Learning and support the Welsh Government’s strategic objectives as identified in the Programme for Government and related Welsh Government policies, such as the Youth Engagement and Progression Framework (YEPF). The overall focus is to help people make effective decisions and become independent in managing their careers.
E.G. Lewis Group visited Ysgol Bae Baglan recently to mentor a Year 9 group of students as part of the South West Wales Business Class Cluster Collaboration Event - CRE8, in partnership with the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest & Careers Wales.
Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest provides all householders in Wales with access to advice and support to help them reduce their energy bills. This includes a referral for eligible householders for a package of free home energy efficiency measures such as a new boiler, central heating system, loft or cavity wall insulation, or renewable technologies.
These preliminary sessions have taken place across a number of secondary schools in Wales. During the session, the Year 9 students worked together in teams with one team going forward to represent Ysgol Bae Baglan at the Final Event.
Students discussed the topic of Energy Efficiency and the ‘need’ for such a product ultimately building a prototype. With Business Development & Marketing Coordinator, Ben Jenkins judging the teams not only on their design and success of their prototype but also their team name, how they work together as a team and their presentation of their final product.
